Keep track of VMware tools

For time to time, VMware tools needs to be upgraded in the virtual datacenter, to ensure best performance. An upgrade does however require a restart which affects the services that are run on the servers. Use vScope to get a quick overview of the status, as well as for planning the upgrades.

Using free text search and saved searches

Use the free text search function in vScope to search your datacenter, just like you would search the Internet.

Working with tags

“Tags” is an important ingredient in vScope and let’s the user define meaning to facts in the datacenter and help structure large amounts of data in seconds. Tags are powerful when it comes to analyzing a datacenter and measuring it towards best practices. vScope uses three different kind of tags:

  • Automatically set tags which are defined by vScope
  • Manual tags, set by the user
  • Rule based tags, automatically set, but defined by user-rules
